Saudi Arabia has shown 1,759 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, but none at the country’s sacred sites at the start of the Hajj pilgrimage season, the ministry of fitness announced Wednesday.

The Kingdom has detected a total of 272,590 cases, but has maintained a maximum cure rate of 84%, with another 228,569 people recovering from treatment.
Of the new cases, 160 were recorded in the city of al-Hafouf, 122 in Mecca and 108 in the capital, Riyadh, according to the Ministry of Health.
There have also been 27 more deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 2816 to July 29.
Earlier on Wednesday, Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia introduced the first day of rituals after self-isolation at a designated hotel amid strict preventive measures against coronaviruses, the official Saudi news firm reported.

A fitness officer has been assigned to the organization of 50 pilgrims to ensure that safety measures are implemented at all times, in addition to dressing in mask and social estrangement, according to SPA.
