President Ram Nath Kovind has announced that this year, Rashtrapati Bhavan will hold Holi meetings amid coronavirus fears in the country.
As India sees a surge in reported coronavirus cases, President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted to announce that this year, the Rashtrapati Bhavan will not host the classic Holi gatherings. His announcement comes shortly after Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan revealed that another 28 people had tested positive for coronavirus in the country, he added in New Delhi.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Modi had also said he would not participate in any “Holi Milan” programs this year amid coronavirus fears in the country. Speaking to microblogging Twitter, Prime Minister Modi said that in order to decrease mass gatherings and spare him the spread of the coronavirus, he would not attend any Holi-related events.
