The New York government ordered the annulment of a wedding that may have brought together more than 10,000 people in violation of regulations to combat the spread of the coronavirus, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Saturday.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office notified the government of Monday’s planned wedding in the Williamsburg segment of Brooklyn.
“We won a suggestion that this happen, we conducted an investigation, we found that it is probably true. There is a big wedding planned that would violate assembly regulations,” Cuomo told a news conference.
Reports said it was an Orthodox Jewish wedding.
New York regulations to stop the spread of Covid-19 restrict social gatherings to up to 50 people. For internal occasions in a church or temple, the limit is 33% of its capacity.
