Police said the order would apply to other people over the age of 11 in “some densely populated areas.”
The virus has been circulating more widely in the region since mid-July, they said. Face masks are already in enclosed public spaces.
Experts warned that France could lose the Covid-19 “at any time.”
Several cities, such as Nice and Lille, have brought their own complementary ordinances that require masking in certain areas.
The Paris government has still detailed the spaces that will be affected by the new ordinance, which will take effect on Monday at 08:00 (06:00 GMT).
Areas where the masks are located will be evaluated regularly, they said.
On a Saturday issue, the government said the positive test rate for coronavirus was 2.4% in the Paris region, compared to the national average of 1.6%.
They added that another 400 people tested positive for coronavirus every day in the region, and others over the age of 20 to 30 were affected.
Earlier this week, he said they had called for further measures on masks in the French capital.
“We’re going to ask that [wear the mask] be mandatory in crowded outdoor spaces where it’s hard to respect a metre away from other people,” said Anne Souyris, deputy mayor in health index.
The new ordinance comes after government clinical advisors warn tuesday that France could lose the virus “at any time.”
France reported 2,288 new coronavirus infections in their figures on Friday, marking a new high after the blockade.
In total, the country has recorded more than 235,000 cases of coronavirus and more than 30,000 deaths, according to knowledge collected through Johns Hopkins University.
