Iran again imposed measures in Tehran province on Saturday to involve the new coronavirus, state television reported, ended public spaces, and canceled occasions days after confirming another record number of cases.
The measures came into force on Saturday and are expected to last a week, the broadcaster said, bringing an order from the office of the governor of Tehran.

Under restrictions, universities and educational centers, mosques, cinemas, museums, wedding halls, beauty salons, gyms, cafes, zoos and swimming pools would be closed, state television reported.
“Cultural and social events and conferences” were cancelled and Friday prayers would be held, he added.
On Thursday, the country presented a 3825 COVID-19 record, surpassing the last record reported on September 22.
The restrictions are largely the same as those that were applied at the start of the pandemic in Iran, which stopped before imposing an entire lockout, despite the deadliest epidemic in the Middle East.
The measures gradually relaxed from April to aggravate an economic crisis caused by the reimposition of heavy sanctions across the United States in 2018.
Iranian President Hassan Rohani on Saturday asked for heavy fines and penalties for those disobeying fitness protocols.
“We want to impose heavy fines on those who know they are inflamed but have not been quarantined for 14 days or even told others” that they have the virus,” Rouhani said at an assembly of the national group of coronavirus runners.
He added that government workers who complied with the regulations can be suspended for a year if the first warnings are taken into account.
Not wearing a mask would result in a fine and companies could close if fitness regulations were followed, according to the president.
Iran’s Ministry of Health announced 3,523 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday, bringing the total number from February to 468,119.
The death toll of 179 raised the death toll from the disease to 26,746.
