ATLANTA, GA – For the seventh time since the start of the pandemic, Georgia has reported more than 4,000 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period.
Friday’s count of 4,149 new instances 81 new deaths and 386 new hospitalizations.
Also on Friday, as many school districts in Georgia prepare for face-to-face training despite the pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a case study that invites reflection and shows how well young people can spread the coronavirus.
According to the study, campers and at a YMCA camp in Burton Lake in northern Georgia were guilty of nearly three hundred COVID-19 cases in June. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution called it “one of the best-known times of mass circulation in the state.”
Among these cases, the average age is 12 years. Children between the ages of 11 and 17 accounted for 44 consistent with the percentage of cases, and about a quarter were asymptomatic.
Those who test positive for COVID-19 do not necessarily have poor health; in some cases, they may not even have symptoms, but they can transmit the coronavirus to other vulnerable people.
CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that a total of 186352 showed instances of COVID-19 at 2:50 p.m. Friday. According to the Department of Health’s website, these 4,149 new cases showed instances in the last 24 hours.
Georgia has also reported 3,752 deaths to date after COVID-19, with 81 more deaths recorded in the past 24 hours. In addition, the state reported 18,689 hospitalizations – 386 more than the following day – and 3,752 admissions to extensive care sets to date.
No data are available in Georgia on the number of patients cured.
Counties on or near the Atlanta Metro continue to have the number of positives, with Fulton County still at the forefront. Gwinnett exceeded 17,000 instances, DeKalb exceeded 12,000 instances, and Cobb exceeded 11,000 instances, all for the first time on Friday.
Counties in or near the Atlanta Metro also continue to have the highest death toll by COVID-19. The only exception is Dougherty County, from Georgia’s first primary outbreak.
On Friday, Georgia administered nearly 1.8 million COVID-19 tests, of which approximately 12% are the least reliable used to trip over antibodies.
For reliable maximum control of the virus itself, 10.9% of the controls yielded positive results. For less reliable antibody testing, 6.4% tested positive. The overall positive rate is around 10.3%.
As more and more Georgians have been reviewed in recent weeks, positive percentages for both viral and general controls have increased slightly. On July 6, the percentage of checks overall that yielded positive results was only 8.7%.

Worldwide, more than 17.4 million other people have become inflamed with COVID-19 and more than 675,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Friday.
In the United States, more than 4.5 million other people were inflamed and nearly 153,000 people died from COVID-19 on Friday. The United States has only about 4% of the world’s population, yet it showed more cases and deaths than any other country.
