ATLANTA, GA – Georgia reported on Saturday the number of recently shown coronavirus infections and deaths.
No number – 3709 new showed cases of COVID-19 and 74 deaths in the last 24 hours – a record. However, both were high, advancing a peak that appears to have stabilized during the following week.
Saturday’s report also knew 306 new hospitalizations, with a total of 3,475 incomes for extensive care sets to date.
Those who test positive for COVID-19 do not necessarily have poor health, in some cases, they may not even have symptoms, but may transmit coronavirus to other vulnerable people.
CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that a total of 190,012 showed cases of COVID-19 at 2:50 p.m. Saturday. According to the Department of Health’s website, this 3,709 new cases have been shown in the last 24 hours.
Georgia has also reported 3,825 deaths to date by COVID-19, with 74 deaths most recorded in the last 24 hours. In addition, the state reported 18,995 hospitalizations, 306 more than the following day, and 3,475 admissions to extensive care sets so far.
No data are available in Georgia on the number of patients cured.
Counties in or around the Atlanta Metropolitan Domain continue to have the number of positives, and Fulton County continues to lead the way. Gwinnett exceeded 17,000 instances, DeKalb exceeded 12,000 instances, and Cobb exceeded 11,000 instances, all for the first time on Friday.
Counties in or near metro Atlanta also continue to have the most deaths from COVID-19. The lone exception is Dougherty County, site of Georgia’s first major outbreak.
On Saturday, Georgia administered more than 1.82 million COVID-19 tests, of which about 12% are the least used to detect antibodies.
For the more reliable test for the virus itself, 10.9 percent of tests came back positive. For the less reliable test for antibodies, 6.4 percent came back positive. The overall positive rate was about 10.4 percent.
As more and more Georgians have been reviewed in recent weeks, positive percentages for viral control and overall controls have increased slightly. On July 6, the percentage of checks overall that yielded positive only 8.7%.

Worldwide, more than 17.6 million people have become inflamed with COVID-19 and more than 680,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Saturday.
In the United States, more than 4.5 million people became inflamed and only about 153,000 people died from COVID-19 on Saturday. The United States has only about 4% of the world’s population, yet more showed cases and deaths than any other country.
