Michael Nagler, superintendent of Mineola Public Schools, told parents in a letter last week that a student from Hampton Street and Mineola High School tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by coronavirus. .

Students must be quarantined in accordance with Ministry of Health rules and will not be able to return to school until fitness officers have provided written authorization.

Two cohorts of school academics were also switched to remote virtual learning as a component of the district’s coronavirus plan.
