Coronavirus: Dubai orders Air India Express to reject negative passenger reports from labs

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority on Monday ordered Air India Express to reject negative reports of passenger coronavirus in 4 Indian laboratories.

The laboratories are Suryam Lab in Jaipur, Microhealth Labs in Kerala, Dr. P Bhasin Pathlabs (private) Limited and Noble Diagnostic Center in Delhi, the airline in a tweet.

Passengers travelling to the United Arab Emirates must have a Covid-19 negative certificate of an RT-PCR test, or chain reaction through the opposite transcription polymer, performed 96 hours prior to travel, in accordance with the country’s rules. 12 and passengers with moderate or severe disabilities are exempt from the rule, according to the Times of India.

The United Arab Emirates has a list of designated laboratories, of which passengers from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh must download their certificates.

Earlier this month, Dubai’s aviation government banned Air India Express flights for 15 days after the airline transported two inflamed passengers. The ban was revoked after the airline trusted that the government would never happen again.

The United Arab Emirates is one of 10 countries with which India has concluded a bilateral air bubble agreement, according to PTI. The two-country agreement to operate two flights with certain restrictions.

The United Arab Emirates has reported more than 92,000 cases of coronavirus and 413 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. India, on the other hand, is the most affected country in the world with 60,74,702 cases and 95,542 deaths.

However, an analytical review by the Indian Institute of Technology in Mandi showed last week that travelers from Dubai and the United Kingdom were the main resources of coronavirus imports in India, according to the review published in the Journal of Travel Medicine.
