Four passengers will be allowed to travel in combination in Hala (Dubai Taxi) vans booked through the Careem app starting today due to new Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) rules, a Hala reads Thursday.
In the past, all taxis had been limited to just two passengers through the government in Dubai in an attempt to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
“As always, we remain committed to employing generation to facilitate Dubai. We are pleased to announce this positive resolution and hope it will make the holiday a little less difficult for those of our cyclists who want to group, whether with friends or family,” said Clemence Dutertre, Hala CEO in the press release.

Customers can book a Hala van through the Careem app, with two passengers allowed in each of the rear rows of the cabin. Hala added that the value of the van service is the same as that of a general taxi.
Hala suggested consumers use the Careem app, noting that there are “a limited number of Dubai taxi vans for hail on city streets. “
Dubai has recently intensified its efforts against coronavirus and recently expanded its COVID-19 control programme. Some Dubai hospitals and driving control centers now offer PCR nasal strip controls for coronavirus for just 250 dirhams ($68) or less.
The United Arab Emirates reported an increase in coronavirus instances with 883 new infections on Wednesday, the day recorded, followed by 19, 20 and 21 May at the start of the pandemic.
