Coronavirus: Dine-in restaurants, businesses to reopen today in Pakistan

Restaurants, salons, gyms and other businesses that were closed by the new coronavirus will reopen from today (Monday) when Pakistan returns to the generality after its efforts to involve the pandemic appear to be paying off.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) announced thursday that cinemas, theaters, gyms, public affairs and restaurants will reopen across the country from Monday, August 10, subject to the implementation of protection and SOPs against coronavirus.

Shopping malls and other businesses are set to remain open as per the pre-lockdown timings.

Tourist destinations across the country, which won a touch on Saturday when the government allowed hotels to reopen there, saw an increase in business when other people flocked to appreciate the sites and enjoy them after months forced to stay indoors.

However, the government has stated that it will control whether COVID-19 ISPs are implemented or not. Hotels in tourist destinations will open to fewer people who will be asked to wear a mask and practice the social distance.

Several tourists flocked to Naran, Kaghan, Nathiagali, Murree, Swat and other tourist destinations at the Hazara branch on Sunday, where police, like fitness branch officials, were on their way to facilitate them.

“After the easing of closure restrictions across the country, our stalls are reopening to welcome us again,” said Sami Shabbi, an extremely cheerful tourist from Murree.

A youth organization in Murree lamented that large numbers of others flocked to popular tourist sites and major cities over the weekend despite warnings from the fitness government that the threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic is far from over.
