Coronavirus: Covid-19 in India surpasses one million

It has the third number of instances in the world, after the United States and Brazil, the only 3 countries to date that register more than one million instances of coronavirus.

Active instances in India account for about one-third of their overall count, as it reported a higher cure rate and a low mortality rate from the virus.

But deaths have increased. At 25,602, they are eighth in the world.

The number of instances in India is higher, with near-record peaks, in recent weeks. He overcame Russia earlier this month to take the 3rd position for the largest number of coronavirus instances in the world.

Although India showed its first case in late January, the pandemic has slowly established itself. Experts believe that some extent was avoided due to an advance ruling by the government in March to avoid all foreign flights and introduce a strict blockade that lasted only two months.

But the restrictions had a devastating economic and human cost, and after India reopened in late June and evidence increased, the number of cases soared.

Experts say the capital, Delhi, and some states have squandered the opportunity presented through the blockade to effectively test, insinuate and isolate.

Although the territory of the capital has noticed a decrease in cases, they continue to accumulate in other parts of India.

The western state of Maharashtra remains the largest access point with the number of instances, more than 280,000, of all states.

But new hotspots are emerging as the southern states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, and to the east, Bihar, West Bengal, record an immediate accumulation in the number of cases.

They responded with local blockades: the southern city of Chennai (Madras) emerged from a recent blockade and Bangalore, also in the south, is recently a one-week blockade.

Although India has completely reopened, intermittent local locks are likely to be the new norm as the country grapples with the pandemic.
