Coronavirus: case tracking and mapping

The coronavirus pandemic has spread around the world, and the United States leads the total number of positive cases and deaths. California, being the largest state, leads the country in instances and deaths.

Here in San Diego County, more than 37,000 people tested positive for the virus and more than 600 people died.

To better see the spread of the virus in San Diego County, KPBS compiled the knowledge of COVID-19 in the following visualizations:

– Table: COVID-19 Case and Death

– Table: Cases and deaths by COVID-19 in Baja California

– Chart: New from COVID-19 over time

– Map: COVID-19 case by zip code

The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency publishes daily information on COVID-19 on new and newer deaths. However, there may be delays due to pending testing.

Although Mexico is the United States in terms of the total number of coronavirus cases, the pandemic has hit the country hard. Lately, the country is among the ten most sensitive to the total number of cases.

In July, San Diego County was added to the state’s COVID-19 watch list. At that time, the county averaged a hundred cases in line with another hundred thousand people in the state.

On August 19, Governor Newsom removed San Diego County from the watch list once the local case rate fell to 88.4 positive COVID-19 tests, consisting of 100,000 people.

The county would possibly be listed again if it is reported to exceed one of the other six measures that the state takes into account when attacking the counties on the list. They come with everything from the case rate, the percentage of positive tests, the average number of tests a county must perform on a daily basis, adjustments in the number of patients hospitalized, and the percentage of fans and extensive care beds available.

KPBS mapped COVID-19 instances in data in San Diego County regions, which are updated daily.

Knowledge constitutes the resident of the inflamed user and not the transmission site. County fitness officials are under pressure that they don’t need the public to read the knowledge too much, as numbers are only a part of the actual COVID-19 cases.
