Coronavirus Canada updates: New COVID-19 outbreak at Vancouver Care Home where thirteen died

Ten other people contracted COVID-19 at a long-term care home in downtown Vancouver, which was the site of one of the worst outbreaks of the disease in British Columbia last spring.

Vancouver Coastal Health reported tuesday of a new outbreak at the Haro Park Centre Special Care Unit.

On Wednesday, the nursing home said a positive user at the hospital, while nine others were remote at the site.

Haro Park Center CEO Robert Gillis said the first indications are that an asymptomatic member of a resident’s family circle has brought the virus to the facility.

Gillis claimed that the space had been reported on the case on September 27 and had alienating the resident, but that several days had passed since the visit.

In the first outbreak of the facility, another 89 people died with COVID-19 and thirteen patients.

This outbreak was declared completed on 30 May.
