A new case of coronavirus infection has been detected in the National Assembly, bringing to three the number of cases presented to parliament, and another six people are being supported lately for screening, the presidency of the National Assembly announced on Saturday. The new consideration of the case is that of the deputy of the LREM of Haute-Garonne, Elisabeth Toutu-Picard, who announced in a statement that she was detected positive for the coronavirus on March 6. She left the hospital on Saturday and will be confined to her home for 14 days.
The Presidency of the National Assembly had announced on Thursday that another deputy and an establishment worker had tested positive for the coronavirus. According to Alsatian media, the deputy in question is Jean-Luc Reitzer, deputy of the Upper Rhine Republicans. On Saturday, the presidency of the National Assembly indicated that six other people are recently being treated through screening tests, adding five deputies and an agent. The number of victims of the new coronavirus increased on Saturday in France where 16 deaths and 949 cases were recorded, marking a clear acceleration in the spread of the virus in the country.
