Contra Costa County Lifts COVID-19 Testing Expansion Orders; Sites to close

CONTRA Costa County: This week, Contra Costa County fitness officials lifted 3 fitness orders that expanded the availability of COVID-19 in the early months of the pandemic.

The orders enabled COVID at sites operated through OptumServe, directed labs to percentages of COVID verification effects with local and national public fitness agencies, and required fitness services to supply COVIDArray.

The county’s fitness officer, Dr. Ori Tzvieli, rescinded the three ordinances on Tuesday, arguing that “organizational and regulatory adjustments at the state and federal level” have left them in the current state of the pandemic.

OptumServe now conducts COVID verification under the state authority that the local authority, according to a spokesperson for Contra Costa Health Services, while verification labs across the state are now required to properly report their verification data.

The testing requirement for giant healthcare providers like Kaiser Permanente was deemed unnecessary due to the widespread availability of in-home testing and federal needs for healthcare providers to offer several loose COVID tests each month.

The 3 fitness orders were first issued between May and September 2020.

CHSC also announced this week that it will close its COVID sites in Richmond and San Ramon, leading to a significant drop in call at either location over the summer.

Both sites will close permanently after Friday. The tests will run until 3:30 p. m.

“Although county control sites are disappearing, other people can also get checked through their regular physical care providers, state control sites, pharmacies or by purchasing over-the-counter home control kits,” CCHS said in a statement.

The county delivers HOME COVID at all 26 branches of its library and 3 COVID vaccination sites in Richmond, Concord and Antioch.

On Thursday, the county reported 269,727 COVID cases since the pandemic began.
