SINGAPORE: The final touch date of various public fitness services will be delayed due to the effect of COVID-19 on Singapore’s structure industry, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said in a written parliamentary reaction on Monday, October 5.

“These delays in the final touch of our public fitness infrastructure projects can have an effect on the overall short-term fitness care capacity,” Mr. Gan said.

“The Ministry of Health (Ministry of Health) is exploring other measures to expand the capacity of our existing services and reduce the need for our public fitness services,” he added, and mentioned the characteristics of telemedicine and networked care as examples.

Mr Gan answered questions from Deputy Lim Wee Kiat, who asked what progress had been made in the progression of the Woodlands Health Campus and whether it had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Woodlands Health Campus, which will open gradually from 2022, is now expected to open from 2023, Mr. Gan.

Similarly, the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Integrated Care Center and the Emergency Medicine Building at Singapore General Hospital will now open a year later, in 2023 and 2024, respectively, he added.

The new eunos, Kallang and Bukit Panjang polyclinics, which were scheduled to open until the end of the year, are expected to open until the end of 2021.

“As the scenario at COVID-19 evolves and the structure accelerates, we can expect additional adjustments in the final touch times of our fitness facilities,” he said.

All activities of the structure were suspended from the “circuit breaker” period.

And although the structure at fitness progression sites has gradually resumed, Gan noted that they “have not reached the pre-COVID rate” because the resumption of paints will have to be carried out in a controlled manner to minimize the threat of coronavirus spread. .

“According to our current assessment, these outages can delay up to a year on many of our fitness infrastructure projects,” he said.
