Conshohocken Corporate Trucks for COVID-19 Cellular Testing

Lauren Dugan of FOX 29 has the story.

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pennsylvania – A Conshohocken company is designing a new type of COVID-19 control and is on wheels.

When the pandemic occurred, Larry Borden, the founder and CEO of Aardvark Mobile Tours, had to replace his fleet, which was originally designed for marketing corporations at primary events.

“I read an article that said Israel would take shipping boxes and beat them all over the country for testing,” Borden said. “One of the disorders is that they want cranes to move them and they don’t have electricity.”

Borden knew that his equipment could do more through the construction of COVID-19 control trucks that have air conditioning for the nurses and separate them from patients through a glass screen.

“Everything is done in one position and you can get out much faster than you historically would.”

Borden says the call is huge: “We received calls from Dubai, we get calls from Washington state, from all over the country. All those trucks.

As the pandemic progresses, Aardvark Mobile Tours is accelerating production, deploying in the most affected spaces and serving populations.

“The faster they put the truck on the road, the faster they get the attention other people need,” Borden said.

In his fleet of 115 vehicles, he calls those trucks the Swiss knife of the cellular medical units. Once the tests are completed, he says they can be converted to administer the COVID vaccine and local physical checkups. The company says trucks will soon be available for testing in the Philadelphia area.
