Comments from the Prime Minister of Armenia on discussions on the COVID-19 ARMENPRESS Armenian News Agency vaccine

YEREVAN, JULY 9, ARMENPRESS. During today’s cabinet meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on how the Armenian government and the Ministry of Health are reaching talks to get a vaccine against the new coronavirus, if the vaccine still exists.

“I need to clarify: while the global total is waiting for this vaccine, other people are queuing up to buy this expected vaccine, and there are countries that have even made a purchase, in other words, transferred cash and bought a giant amount of the future, which raises considerations that vaccine batches will only be purchased through certain countries,” the Prime Minister said.

Health Minister Arsen Torosyan said the vaccine exists and there are many vaccines. “The discussion is about getting final approval, there are corporations that have produced vaccines through tens of thousands, and the discussion is about immediate distribution after final approval,” he said, adding that vaccines are recently being tested at clinics in other countries.
