Cofidis and Israel Premier Tech let Covid-19 corridors pass

It has just been announced that two riders from the Cofidis and Israel Premier Tech groups will have to claim the loss of the Tour. The resolution fell on Thursday morning, June 30. The two riders, namely Daryl Impey (Israel Premier Tech) and Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) had to withdraw from the Tour because their Covid-19 tests came back positive. Although Bob Jungels, of AG2R Citroën, has been given the green light to participate in the Tour. It is no longer contagious.

Pierre-Luc Périchon will upgrade to Coquard and Guy Niv will upgrade to Impey. Bob Jungels almost missed the tour because of his concern about testing positive for COVID-19, but allowed to participate due to the revised COVID-19 testing policy. I had to pass more tests before joining the tour.

AG2R Citroën issued an official press release saying:

Following a PCR performed Wednesday that revealed a mild viral load, @BobJungels underwent a new PCR this morning.

Then they shed light on the situation:

The result of this control confirms that it is not contagious. The MEDICAL CONTROL of the ICU confirms that you will participate in the @LeTour

Such a pardon not in the fate of Daryl Impey, as the poor guy was also not part of the team’s presentation on Wednesday. All his hopes of returning to Copenhagen with a negative result in his hand collapsed on Thursday morning when his PCR and antigen. the controls showed positive results.

At the beginning of the week, Omer Goldstein had to exchange puts with Guillaume Boivin. He prevented the year well by winning level four of the Tour de Suisse. He also won a level of the 2019 Tour.

These occasions left him and nervous, as he suggests in a video message:

It’s frustrating, I don’t see how the Tour will play out in the next 3 weeks if they’re going to monitor other people every two or three days. The coronavirus is something we will have to live with.

He said he didn’t feel any symptoms and felt fine:

COVID stuck the week for me, no symptoms, so it’s very frustrating for me

The 37-year-old also had to miss the Tour de France last year, due to a twist of fate that was met with the final of the Ruta del Sol. He still had a damaged pelvis despite all his frustration at missing the Tour twice. In a row, he is still grateful to have progressed. This is a true example of sportsmanship. In his own words:

There’s something positive to take: last year, I was in a wheelchair to watch the Tour de France, I’m still healthy, so I have something to put into perspective.
