Coalition leader: Uman commission ”well, too late’

The head of the coalition, Miki Zohar, said the resolution to appoint a ministerial committee on the option to allow Rosh Hashaná’s pilgrimages to Uman was the right thing to do, but that he would possibly have come too late.

Zohar said a proposal to allow up to 6,000 Israelis to the site of Rebbi Nachman’s tomb and have them inspected for COVID-19 on the way to Ukraine and back may have provided a quick solution to the problem.
