Closes auction for China fashion gala auction to get Chinese Institute perks

The auction concludes with pieces from a charity auction held as a component of the fifth annual Chinese fashion gala, a Chinese design birthday component organized through the Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Charity Fund and the New York-based China Institute.

The budget raised will gain advantages from the Institute of China and its efforts to move forward between the United States and China. For 94 years, the institute has worked to provide information about China through systems in culture, art, education and business.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s gala was postponed as an hour-long live virtual broadcast worldwide on July 23. Jason Wu. American Chinese designer Phillip Lim won a leadership award, presented through Lisa Ling. Actress, director, artist and activist Lucy Liu has won an Icon Award. Quincy Jones Productions created openness functionality worldwide. Kenny G and Lang Lang were among those who played. Click here to view the full event.

The Yue-Sai Kan China Beauty Fund was established in 2011 in honor of Yue-Sai Kan through the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation. Founded in 1926 through Chinese educators Hu Shi and K.P. Wen and American scholars John Dewey and Paul Monroe, the China Institute is the oldest, independent, nonprofit bicultural organization in the United States that focuses exclusively on China.
