Classified Facebook Trump ads linking refugees to COVID-19

Social media giant Facebook got rid of an ad from Trump’s crusade that falsely claimed that refugees would increase the threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

The announcement featured a clip through Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden over the border while claiming biden would increase the number of refugees arriving from Syria, Somalia and Yemen by 700%.

The video covered with a text about the “health risks” of an “increase in the number of refugees”.

“We have rejected these ads because we do not allow accusations that other people’s physical security, fitness, or survival is threatened by others because of their national origin or immigration status,” Facebook spokesman Andy Stone told NBC News.
