Her comments refer to Western Australia’s Labor senator, Fatima Payman, who broke ranks with her to accuse Israel of genocide.
“At a time like this, it’s vital not to focus on what we don’t agree with, but on what we agree with,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia.
“I think we agree that the October 7 attacks were horrific; I think we also agree that the civilian death toll in Gaza is absolutely unacceptable, too high. “
