Too often, ordinary citizens suffer from corruption. They face bribe requests to see a doctor or file a complaint with the police, and it’s usually the ones who can pay the least a bribe the most.
This is not another during the COVID-19 pandemic, the pandemic has had and will continue to have a primary effect on people’s physical condition and well-being, but while policy makers play a very important role in ending corruption, citizens also have a voice.
Since January 2020, Transparency International’s Centers for Defense and Legal Advice (ALAC) has supported more than 1,800 people who have contacted us to report corruption cases and look for COVID-19-related issues.
Operating in more than 60 countries, ALAC inspires and others to securely report corruption, access public information, and call for transparent, responsive and accountable government institutions.
Our citizen reporting studies show several non-unusual spaces where others suffer the most: humanitarian aid, police corruption and physical care, and our studies show that women are especially vulnerable to the dangers of COVID-19-related corruption.
Although cases vary across the country, many citizens report police corruption with border and quarantine measures, while others report bribes in all fitness systems, from patients to doctors.
Others, gender corruption or the distribution of humanitarian and economic aid.
How corruption makes other people sick.
Citizens fight as promised, COVID-19 disappears.
COVID-19 makes it more vulnerable to corruption.
Police corruption is also a pandemic.
Don’t let barriers stop you from talking. If you don’t know your rights or the law, or if you don’t accept your domain establishments that kindly address your complaint, check to see if there’s an ALAC in your country that can help.
Corruption will only be prevented when other people work together to replace the system. Reporting corruption is one of the most effective tactics to influence, replace and enforce your rights.
Together, we can make COVID-19 budgeting and facilities successful for those who want it most. Today more than ever we will have to be vigilant against corruption. Can you help us.
Specifically, we want your help to make sure that COVID-19 control kits are not sold to the highest bidder, that frontline fitness personnel have sufficiently good protections and can report irregularities safely, and that quarantine measures apply to everyone, not just those who wish to do so. or pay bribes.
