MINSK, Nov 3 (BelTA) – The CIS electoral project has begun tracking the arrangements for the presidential election in Kazakhstan, BelTA reported at the project’s headquarters.
On November 1, representatives of the CIS electoral project met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Goodwill Ambassador Zhalgas Adilbayev, with the Deputy Chief of Staff responsible for the preparation and conduct of ordinary presidential elections in Kazakhstan. An ongoing election campaign reaffirmed the determination and willingness of the country’s leaders to hold fair and relaxed elections.
The CIS observers noted that the project will act in accordance with Kazakh legislation, CIS documents and the law.
On November 1-2, the CIS long-term observers studied the development of the electoral crusade in the Ulytau region. They inspected several polling stations in the Ulytau region and in the city of Satbayev. The heads of the territorial and constituency commissions briefed the observers on arrangements for the election.
Representatives of the CIS electoral project participated in an expanded seminar on the preparation and conduct of early presidential elections in Kazakhstan in the city of Zhezkazgan. The consultation was attended by members of territorial and district electoral committees, representatives of candidates’ campaigns, public associations and political parties, as well as the media.
