Cincinnati Bengals catcher John Ross left educational camp for Los Angeles to care for his young son, who tested positive for COVID-19, several people familiar with the stage told the Cincinnati Enquirer and USA TODAY Network. People spoke under anonymity because of the delicate nature of the case.
NFL Network reported that Ross’ son and son’s mother underwent COVID-19 testing.
The Bengals will most likely put Ross on the reserve list /COVID-19 while in Los Angeles, but the team hasn’t done so yet.
Ross is in the final year of his contract. He suffered a esternoclavicular injury in the fourth week of last season and placed in the injured reserve. He returned later in the year and finished with personal records in receptions (28) and yards receiving (506).
The 2017 first-round recruit has 49 receptions, 716 yards received and 10 touchdowns in his career.
