China’s Unfavorable Outlook Is a Record Success in the U.S. [Infographic]

A recent survey published through the Pew Research Center found that US views on China continued to worsen amid the continued spread of Covid-19. Research has shown that negative prospects for China among U.S. adults have seven percent higher since March and that there is a widespread belief that Beijing mismanded the initial epidemic and its upcoming spread. 73% of U.S. adults have unfavorable vision of China today, 26% more than in 2018. In 2010, the percentage of the U.S. public with an unfavorable view of China particularly under 36%, while 49% said their opinion was positive.

Opinions have deteriorated over the past decade for a variety of reasons, such as Beijing’s territorial claims in the South China Sea and the Trump administration’s ongoing industrial war before the pandemic led to an even more dramatic deterioration. Today, older Americans are the negative highs with 81% of other people over the age of 50 who say their view of Beijing is unfavorable. By comparison, the figure among 18- to 29-year-olds is 56%. These prospects are also bipartisan, with 83% of Republicans with an unfavorable opinion, as well as 68% of Democrats.

Some facets of Pew’s research have shown how bleak American public opinion has become about the factor. 78% of U.S. adults have a much or giant duty component for the spread of coronavirus for initial control of the epidemic through the Chinese government, while 77% of respondents have little or no confidence that President Xi Jinping Jinping is doing the right thing on global issues. In general, the U.S. Quotes are seen in very negative terms, with 68% of Americans surveyed saying that the economic ties between the two countries are in poor condition, a 15 percent increase in issues since May last year. Moreover, just over a quarter of respondents said China is an enemy of the United States.
