China responded to Covid-19 pandemic

The Chinese are more in managing their government’s coronavirus pandemic, according to a survey.

American and Spanish academics interviewed some 13,500 people from 19 countries severely affected by Covid-19 to assess public attitudes about other nations’ reaction to the epidemic.

People were asked to assess their government’s handling of the crisis, adding how well the lockdown measures worked, how strong the control regimes were, and whether other vulnerable people were protected in the first wave.

The Chinese were the ones most satisfied with their government’s response, and China scored 80. 5 out of 100.

The United States ranked 9th (50. 5), South Africa and India, while Great Britain ranked 13th (48. 6), Russia.

The highest rates of infection and mortality in Covid-19 correlate with a lower score for the country, the researchers found.

China reacted temporarily but harshly to the epidemic, locking up cities with armed guards and confineing others in their homes by threatening them with prison.

Therefore, it is the epicenter of the pandemic, has recorded only 91082 instances and about 5,000 deaths; officials have been accused of manipulating figures to save appearances after not avoiding the epidemic around the world.

The Chinese were the happiest with their government’s response, with China taking the highest score of 80. 5 out of 100, the United States ranked ninth (South Africa and India) while Britain ranked 13th, Russia
