China has brought a new approach to receiving a COVID vaccine: increasing booster shots for its citizens before catching up with the world’s maximum and ending the serious restrictions of the COVID era.

Shanghai on Wednesday used its official social media account to announce that the city had begun providing others with a loose edition of the vaccine from CanSino Biologics Inc.

The aerosol edition of the Chinese biopharmaceutical company’s single-injection adenoviral vaccine, also approved for use in Argentina, Hungary, Malaysia, Mexico and Pakistan, won the courtesy of Chinese regulators last month.

The option is presented as a reminder to inhale rather than inject into the arm, making it less difficult to administer and an option for those who are not comfortable with needles.

The effectiveness of this type of vaccine would be affected by the length of the mist droplets, according to Dr. Brown. Vineeta Bal, immunologist from India.

The World Health Organization says nasal vaccines are being given around the world.

China has struggled to put in place a “zero COVID” policy.

While the country has still made vaccination mandatory, 90% of citizens would be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by mid-October, more than half of whom have been vaccinated.
