China eases quarantine and flight bans in ‘COVID zero’ pivot

CLEAR

China has reduced the number of travelers over time and close contacts will have to quarantine and abandon testing, in a significant recalibration of the “zero COVID” policy that has isolated the world’s second-largest economy and sparked public anger.

Travelers to China will have to spend five days in a government hotel or quarantine center, followed by 3 days confined to their homes, according to a report by the National Health Commission on Friday. Current regulations require a 10-day quarantine in total, with one week in a hotel and then 3 days at home.
