In mid-May this year, the Chinese market opened to the culmination of Chilean citrus fruits, providing enormous opportunities for Chilean manufacturers and exporters. San Osvaldo is a Chilean citrus company that works basically with lemons, culmination of sweet citrus and navel. of this new opportunity and exported its citrus culmination to China for the first time this season. José Manuel Ortiz says: “This year we plan to send a total of about forty-five to 50 containers, usually full of lemons. “
Cheap for the first part of the season The first part of the season was very good for San Osvaldo and for exports of Chilean lemons, shares of Ortiz. the time part of the season because the volumes that are coming are much higher than the volumes of the first weeks. In fact, the number of exporters shiping products to China has increased».
The market has sometimes been smart, however, there have been some ups and downs so far. “At the beginning of the season, the call was very smart. However, this enthusiasm faded over the next few weeks. Now we’re seeing smart degrees of movement again. A market place throughout China is interesting, and I think the diversification of our market locations will be very smart for San Osvaldo and for the Chilean industry in general.
The merit of Chile Although there are other origins that originate in the Chinese market at the same time as Chile, Ortiz tells the fact that the Chilean product has a distinctive merit in the market. “Our lemons do not require an inscruent remedy, which makes them a hot product with bright yellow color and, more importantly, a longer shelf life after harvest. Other origins that obtain lemons in the same window require a bloodless remedy before admission or do not have the same benefits of an agreement as that made through Chile,” he says.
A new place in the market means a new place in the market means new requirements, admission behaviors and calls. “The place in the Chinese market is a place in the market in terms of quality,” Ortiz says. “Consumers are aware of this and demand it; it is one of the keys it is certainly a call to forge marketplaceplaceplaceplace and it would be a mistake to enter the Chinese marketplaceplaceplaceplace if you are not aware of it. Next season can be a challenge, as the source will be more vital and more paintings will be needed to differentiate yourself from others,” he adds.
As this year was the first year chile could export its citrus culmination to China, there is plenty of room for expansion in this market. “We’ll see what happens. At least in the early years, I don’t think you’ll have to divert products from existing destinations, such as the United States, for example, to help the source of the Chinese market. However, the delight of other products has shown us that China may surprise us; who knows, maybe it’s just a favorite destination by Chilean lemon!, concludes Ortiz.
