“We are a great target here. Business is terrible. The business has been terrible for 8 months. We have January and February where we do nothing, then the closure of COVID-19 and now that. It’s hard. But we’re going to make it. We’re strong here in Streeterville. »
CHICAGO LIGHTFOOT MAYOR ANSWERS RIOTERS QUESTION ANIMATED BY ‘LACK OF CONSEQUENCES’
Black Lives Matter members in Chicago organized a demonstration Monday involving more than 100 people arrested last night for widespread looting and riots that caused at least $60 million in assets that injured and wounded thirteen police officers, according to a report.
The demonstration was organized through Black Lives Matter Chicago and was held at a South Loop police station, where organizers say U.S. detainees are being held. At least one organizer called the looting “repairs.”
“I don’t care if someone makes the decision to loot a Gucci, a Macy’s or a Nike, because they make sure the user eats,” said BLM organizer Ariel Atkins, according to NBC Chicago. “This indicates that this user has clothes.”

Demirdjian said violence is the way to “get the message across” and hopes a sense of normalcy will return.
“If it’s for food and clothing, I think there are other tactics besides looting and rioting,” said Demirdjian, whose circle of relatives emigrated to the city from Armenia in 1970 and opened his restaurant, Sayat Nova, on the Magnificent Mile.
He said he enjoyed the city and didn’t plan on moving.
