From Carpentry to Guadalupe, Santa Barbara County communities will celebrate Memorial Day with face-to-face ceremonies Monday morning.
Before Monday’s events, volunteers will gather in cemeteries to place flags on the tombs of veterans, especially fallen warriors.
The organizers of the Goleta event, Amvets Santa Barbara Post 3 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1649, said the rite will serve as a tribute to the men and those who gave for both the county, as well as their friends and families.

The organizers of the ceremonies reminded the participants to practice social distance and advised them dressed in masks.

In Carpentry, the Lions Club has a rite scheduled to begin Monday at 10 a. m. Chairs will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.

The Rite of the St. Ynez Valley will come with the opening of new plates and the honor of its top recent army victim, Sergeant Major Timothy Manchester, a member of the Texas National Guard who died in Kuwait this year.
The rite will begin at 11 a. m. . m, Monday in front of Solvang Veterans Memorial Hall, 1745 Mission Drive, where Colonel Anthony Mastalir, commander of the Delta 30 area launch at Vandenberg Space Force Base, plans to speak.
Since World War I, 19 citizens of the Santa Ynez Valley have died while serving in the army.
Other ceremonies at 11 a. m on Monday will also allow Vandenberg’s representatives to speak, which will take place in:
