FLORIDA (WBAL/KTVT/CNN/CNN Newsource/WKRC) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said “high levels” of COVID have been found in wastewater in seven states.
The organization said a vital marker was being located, adding that the amount of COVID detected peaked for the first time this summer. The CDC said the virus is developing or likely developing in 44 states and the District of Columbia.
According to the CDC, the following states have been shown to have peak levels of COVID in their wastewater:
As a result, those states are experiencing more hospitalizations and emergency room visits related to COVID-19.
Health officials said a new subvariant called “FLiRT” helps accumulate cases.
