Update 31/08/20 14:39 EDT – Since then, Twitter has removed President Trump’s retweet by noting that it violated the site’s rules.
Original story: As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the death toll continues to rise, especially in the United States, where more than 180,000 people have died since it began. However, a new figure published through the Centers for Disease Control caused a stir, especially after being retwuted through the president.
The CDC updated provisional death counts by COVID-19 on August 26, and in the comorability section, they revealed that only 6% of deaths were caused only by the virus, data that has been captured through which, in general, the number of deaths and the severity of the pandemic have been greatly exaggerated as an effort to undermine the president during an election year.
However, others also temporarily noted that the number fell into the comorability section, meaning that 94% of those COVID-related deaths were in those who also suffered comorities, the same equipment that was the main threat when the pandemic began.
As a result, they reach social media with their own answers.
Comobility that also contributed to the greatest number of deaths include hypertensive diseases, diabetes, vascular and non-specific dementia, cardiac arrest and center failure.
The pandemic and the way it was treated has a point of friction in the United States, as it is politicized before the presidential election. Specifically, many have challenged mask protection orders across the country, and wonder how effective they are at reducing spread.
The new complaint about the death toll also occurs after CDC replaced its rules on who should be quarantined and when, with a 14-day era that is no longer required for foreign or state-to-state travelers.
However, the directive has changed, local governments can still impose restrictions.
