In effect, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has terminated its COVID-19 cruise program.
A notice on cdc’s online page reads, “As of July 18, 2022, CDC’s COVID-19 cruise program is no longer in effect and this page will no longer be updated. New rules for cruise ships to mitigate and manage the transmission of COVID-19 will be in place in the coming days. “
In the past, the CDC had a mandatory conditional navigation order with certain fitness and protection requirements to mitigate COVID-19 aboard cruise ships. The order expired in January 2022 and the CDC lifted its COVID-19 threat notice for cruise ships. The program has become voluntary, however, top cruise lines, adding Disney Cruise Line, joined it.
In recent months, Disney Cruise Line has replaced some of its COVID-19 requirements. A COVID-19 check is no longer required at the terminal on the day of boarding, but passengers must provide their own check effects before sailing. All visitors eligible for the vaccine will need to be fully vaccinated before sailing.
Disney Cruise Line ships continue to operate at partial capacity and a distance is required when characters are assembled. Masks are required at the maximum number of positions on board.
