According to Remulla, Cavite had in the past recorded between 600 and 700 new instances of COVID-19 compared to the day, but in the last 10 days the average number of new infections ranged from 90 to 100.

Cavite was one of the past spaces placed under MECQ from August 4 to 18 after a medical network call for an era of waiting amid the increasing rate of coronavirus infection under convenient quarantine protocols.

Ministry of Health records showed that as of Wednesday, Cavite had already recorded a total of 17,119 cases of COVID-19. Of this total, 3,561 are active cases; 13,405 are recoveries, while 153 are deaths.

In a television interview last August, Remulla noted that new cases of virus infection in the province had declined, particularly as a result of the implementation of the MECQ.
