Uganda prepares for Covid-19 vaccine trials

The Uganda Virus Research Institute has partnered with Imperial College London to launch the country’s first Covid-19 vaccine trial until December 2020.At the World Vaccine Summit, organized virtually through the British government in June, WHO organized a five-year campaign of $1.6 billion.commitment to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, to provide life-saving vaccines to the world’s poorest countries.Vaccine production functions exist in African countries, as some of these countries are concerned about the progression of vaccines, as opposed to yellow fever and Ebola, according to Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa.Uganda has 1,313 cases of Covid-19 and nine deaths.
