A “suspicious air target” fell in Jordanian territory near the border with Israel on Tuesday, the Israeli military said after local media reported a drone crash in an open area. An army said the incident occurred northeast of the Israeli Red Sea port of Eilat. which has been the target of repeated drone and missile attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebels during the nearly six-month-old Gaza war. On Monday, the military said construction at a naval base in Eilat was hit by an object smuggled in from eastern Israel, suggesting the source was Iraq, where an Iranian-backed defense force said it carried out an attack.
