Wearing a face mask is mandatory in all public places in Brussels on Wednesday as the number of COVID-19 infections increased, Reuters reports.
The Belgian capital, home to the headquarters of the European Union and NATO, recorded an average of 50 instances consisting of a population of 100,000 consistent with last week’ day, making it one of the most affected cities in Europe.
Everyone in the city, which has a population of 1.2 million, will now have to wear a mask in parks, streets or other public places, as well as in personal spaces available to the public, the regional government said.
Until now, masks were mandatory in crowded public spaces and in closed places, such as shopping malls.
Polio vaccination campaigns have resumed in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the last two countries where polio is endemic in the world, after an “increase” in cases.
The pandemic interrupted campaigns in both countries in March and showed cases that have now reached 34 in Afghanistan and 63 in Pakistan, where cases were reported in parts of the country in the on-hand past of the disease.
According to The Afghan Ministry of Health, the maximum of this year’s new cases have been recorded in the southern provinces.”It’s a wave,” said Akmal Samsour, a spokesman for the Ministry of Health.
Added:
This is because we have not conducted a door-to-door immunization crusade in the last 3 months because the ministry involved volunteers who train young people to contribute to the spread of the virus [Covid-19].
After the coronavirus left about 50 million young people without the polio vaccine, polio immunization systems restarted in 3 provinces of Afghanistan in July, with a momentary crusade covering nearly part of the country scheduled to begin this month. In Pakistan, a first vaccination circular took place at the end of July, covering some 780,000 young people, with a national crusade planned later this month.
Pakistan’s government said a three-day crusade would be introduced in the country’s top districts, such as a five-day crusade in Karachi, Peshawar, Khyber and Quetta.
Victoria recorded her highest death toll on Covid-19 night, with 21 deaths and 410 new instances announced on Wednesday, while Prime Minister Daniel Andrews expressed fear of ongoing cases of aged care and death, as well as an increase in disability cases among fitness workers, and in regional areas.
Australia recorded wednesday the deadliest day of the coronavirus pandemic and the largest accumulation of infections in 3 days, Reuters reports.
Victoria has reported 21 deaths, two more than the deadliest days after this week, and 410 new cases in the last 24 hours. The new instances end a three-day streak with new infections below 400 and begin in the hope that a momentary wave affecting Victoria’s state may stabilize.
An infection organization in Melbourne, Australia’s Victorian capital and second-largest city, forced the government last week to impose a night-snout, tighten restrictions on people’s day-to-day lives, and order the closure of much of the state’s economy.
Victoria’s Prime Minister Daniel Andrews said that while the number of cases was reduced, the effect of the new strict blocking measures was not yet evident in the figures.
He reporters:
We all know that a week is the life cycle of this virusArray …and our experts remain convinced that it will reduce the numbers.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn said Wednesday that the Russian COVID-19 vaccine had been sufficiently tested, Reuters reports.
President Vladimir Putin announced Tuesday that Russia was the first country to grant regulatory approval to a COVID-19 vaccine after less than two months of human testing.
But there are considerations about Moscow’s resolve to grant approval before the final judgments are over.
Radio Spahn Deutschlandfunk:
It can be harmful to start vaccinating millions, if not billions, of other people too soon, as this can practically kill the acceptance of vaccination if there is a problem, so I am very skeptical about what is happening in Russia.
I would be satisfied if we had a premium vaccine, but in everything we know, and that is the basic problem, that is, the Russians do not tell us much, this has not been sufficiently proven.
Spahn added that it was crucial, including a pandemic, conducting proper studies and testing and making public the effects of giving people confidence in the vaccine.
If you need to know more about the UK economy that is entering the internal crisis on record, check out the business blog.
The UK economy has officially been in recession for the first time since the 2008 currency crisis, as the coronavirus pandemic plunged the country into the most domestic recession ever recorded.
The Office for National Statistics reported that gross domestic product (GDP), the broadest measure of economic prosperity, fell by 20.4% in the 3 months through the end of June, the largest quarterly drop since comparable records began in 1955.
After a 2.2% drop in the first quarter, figures verify that the UK economy collapsed into recession after the March epidemic and the government imposed a national blockade to involve it.Economists see two consecutive quarters of GDP decline as the technical definition of a recession.
However, monthly economic figures show that the UK economy continued to emerge from the June pandemic, with lockdown measures gradually easing and a suppressed call to fuel a buildup in customer spending. GDP grew 8.7% during the month, faster than expected by the City’s economists.
