The Philippines remains one of the “most positive” countries in the world amid the pandemic, according to Gallup’s 2022 Global Emotions Report.
According to the report, the Philippines is among the most sensitive countries with the highest positive reports in the world. The country scored 81 on Gallup’s Positive Experience Index with Iceland and Senegal.
The index ruled through Panama with a score of 85, followed by Indonesia and Paraguay with a score of 84, as well as El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua, with 82. Denmark and South Africa, with a score of 80, were also the best performing countries. Philippines.
“The Positive Experience Index is based on people’s responses to five questions about the positive reports they had the day before the survey. Higher scores imply that a greater portion of the population reported feeling those emotions,” Gallup explained.
However, he said the overall positive score of the index in 2021 was 69, which is lower than the 71 recorded in 2020. The Philippines’ score in 2020 is also 81.
“In addition to the backlog of negative reports, fewer people reported receiving positive reports the day before. After several years of stability, the Positive Experience Index score in 2021-69 fell for the first time since 2017,” Gallup said.
Gallup asked 1200 Filipinos if they felt or experienced 10 emotions, anger, sadness, stress, worry, pain, pleasure, rest, learning, smiling and respect the day before the survey.

The effects of the Gallup report were observed in nationally representative probabilistic samples among the adult population aged 15 years and older.
The Positive Experience Index and the Negative Experience Index are calculated from surveys conducted in 122 countries and in 2021 and early 2022.
The effects of 2021 are on telephone or face-to-face surveys of approximately 1000 or more respondents across the country or region. Gallup conducted 3500 interviews in China, 3000 in India and 2000 in the Russian Federation.
For effects on the overall pattern of national adults, the margin of sampling error levels of ± 2 to ± 5. 5 percentage points to the 95% confidence level.
The margin of error reflects the influence of knowledge weighting. In addition to sampling error, the wording of questions and difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce errors or biases into the effects of public opinion polls.
