Cruise Replaces COVID Rules: Disney Cruise Line Removes Vaccination Requirement
Carnival had eased its COVID-19 needs last month, as it no longer required unvaccinated consumers to apply for a waiver for many crossings, but passengers had to provide proof of vaccination or carry a check to board.
According to a press release, Holland America Line also removed vaccination requirements for its “standard protocol” trips, as well as regulations for unvaccinated passengers. Changes are also subject to local restrictions.
“Passengers on voyages with enhanced protocols will learn more about protocols based on ports visited,” the line said in the statement. Passengers can also view the express requirements for their navigation in the line’s fitness protocols tool.
Princess Cruises made an update last week, removing its remaining vaccine and testing requirements for many voyages. The changes apply “except in destinations where government regulations could vary, such as Australia and some trips with improved rules that have their own vaccination and testing requirements. “A Princess spokesperson said in an email.
Guests can check their cruise needs online with the line’s CruiseHealth tool.
The updates come after Norwegian Cruise Line also removed all necessary masks, vaccinations and testing earlier this month. Many cruise lines began relaxing regulations after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ended its COVID-19 cruise program in July.
