Cardiovascular risk factors for complications and death of COVID-19

For most people, the new coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) causes mild illness, but can lead to severe pneumonia and death in others. It is that doctors working with cardiovascular patients perceive the clinical presentation and threat points of COVID-19 infection in this group.

In the new study, the researchers analyzed the knowledge of 21 published observational studies on a total of 77,317 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 in Asia, Europe and the United States. At the time of admission to the hospital, 12.89% (95% CI 8.24-18.32) of patients had cardiovascular comorities, 36.08% (95% CI 20.25-53.64) had high blood pressure and 19.45% (95% CI 12.55-27.45) had diabetes.

Hospital cardiovascular headaches were documented with 14.09% (95% CI 10.26-20.23) of coVID-19 patients. The maximum non-unusual of these headaches were arrhythmias or palpitations; a significant number of patients also had myocardial lesions. When researchers analyzed the data, they found that pre-existing cardiovascular comorities or threat points were significant predictors of cardiovascular headaches (p-0.019), but that age (p -0.197) and sex (p -0.173) were not. Pre-existing cardiovascular age and comorities or threat points were significant predictors of death.
