Relations between the Dominican Republic and the United States are increasingly important in a wide variety of areas. When it comes to industry and offshoring, the Dominican Republic’s talented workforce, advances in the productive sector, membership in CAFTA-DR, and geographic proximity make it a key partner in the global effort to bring origin chains closer to home. In the fight against systemic corruption, the Dominican Republic has been at the epicenter of a multi-year effort to reduce corruption and promote transparent governance. In adaptation efforts, the Dominican Republic is at the forefront and has a wealth of minerals that will become increasingly vital as the world seeks to navigate the transition to a green economy.

However, those opportunities require a strengthened U. S. -Dominican Republic relationship, characterized by close bilateral ties and sustained engagement. There are already promising signs in this regard, led by President Abinader, whose administration has forged close ties with the United States. . This occasion will address the relations between the Dominican Republic and the United States, the demanding situations and opportunities shared, as well as the evolution of the Dominican Republic’s role in the region and the world.
