TORONTO: The Canadian government is reintroducing Covid-19 testing measures at 4 major airports across the country starting Tuesday, for foreign travelers, adding those from India.
As of July 19, the mandatory random for foreign passengers arriving at the airports of Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and Calgary will be relaunched.
This measure was suspended on June 11, as the situation at Canadian airports has become lousy with hours of waiting in queues, among other difficulties.
However, Transport Canada announced on Friday that it will bring back random verification, although it is now done off-site. Passengers arriving chosen at random will receive an email notification within 15 minutes of customs clearance of their customs declaration.
