Canada, Ontario are investing in affordable housing in Sault Ste.Marie

Progression transforms the old Catholic school St.Bernadette at 462 McNabb Street in an affordable housing complex for women and young Aboriginal people at risk of becoming homeless.Progression is done through the Urban Indigenous Homeward Bound program that is carried out through the Friendship Center at Sault Ste Marie.On-site child care and circle of relatives is provided through the Waabinong Family Resource and Head Start Center.Homeward Bound provides independent affordable housing and facilities, adding child care, life skills, postsecondary education assistance, job guidance through an industry council, and the transition to independence.
