Canada loses Lake Louise alpine occasion by 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic

Canada will not host an alpine ski race on the World Cup circuit this season after Lake Louise’s occasion announced Thursday that the COVID-19 pandemic will take a season.

FiS, the sport’s governing body, says that every occasion in North America will be realigned at existing technical and speed racing sites in Europe.

The occasions of the Men’s and Women’s World Cups scheduled to take place in Lake Louise, Alberta, from November 25 to December 6.

Lake Louise organizers say they are planning their event in 2021.

The resolution cancels occasions in Killington, Vermont, and Vail/Beaver Creek, Colorado Val d’Isere, France and St.Moritz, Switzerland, will be raising events this season.

The first occasion of the Alpine World Cup held at Lake Louise in 1980 and the races have been held annually on Alberta Mountain since 1993.
