TORONTO (AP) – Canada’s border firm is issuing stricter regulations for Americans traveling through Canada to Alaska amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“The front tag will obviously imply that travelers are transiting and will come with the date they will have to leave Canada. The back of the label will remind travelers to meet all access requirements,” the border firm said in a statement.
The firm stated that it had to take the maximum direct direction from the access point to the planned departure point and inform the nearest Canada Border Services station when departing.
Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 will be able to enter Canada.
In June, social media posts claimed that some Americans had visited tourist destinations in Canada, such as Banff National Park, after telling border agents traveling to Alaska.
