The California Director of Public Fitness resigned after disorders with the state coronavirus data were discovered, resulting in a sub-registration of new cases.
Dr. Sonia Angell, who held the position for less than a year, announced her resignation Sunday in an email to the branch staff, according to the Los Angeles Times. She hinted at the explanation of why his release.
“Since January, when we learned about repatriation flights from Wuhan, China, our branch has been at the center of what has a government-wide reaction to unprecedented proportions in COVID-19,” he wrote. “In the last calculation, all our paintings make a difference.”
Its departure comes a week after knowledge errors were discovered in the city’s coronavirus tracking formula, the California Reportable Disease Information Exchange (known as CalREDIE), which generated a buildup of 300,000 verification effects in the state. California Secretary of Health and Human Services Dr. Mark Ghaly said they were developing a new follow-up formula and noted that a full investigation into CalREDIE-related issues is underway.
Two different errors were discovered: one for a server outage on July 25 and the other for the expiration of an electronic certificate for knowledge transfer from Quest Laboratories.
Resolving the delay can lead to a dramatic increase in infections in California, one of the states most affected by the pandemic.
“I need to thank Dr. Angell for his service to the state and his paintings in helping to advise our public aptitude formula through this global pandemic, losing sight of the importance of equity in fitness,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement.
More than 10,000 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported in California. There have been more than 550,000 reported cases.
